The central plaza is the nuclear heart of the capital of the state of Chiapas. It is the origin and the historic center, where the powers of the Municipality and the State converge, as well as the religious and the legal. The plaza is a space for demonstration, protest, celebration, but also for convergence.

The design of this public space is based on a simple structure where the corridors delimit the space and serve to pause the pedestrian, acting as a kind of filter for waiting or resting.

Between an intense and vibrant contour, the plaza is a semi-contained space, which is now green and with waterdue to the circular fountain that generates a refreshing mirror of water on the hottest days of the city.

Likewise, the lighting proposal allowed for the creation of a night time space where people go out for a walk at the end of their workday.
