The Patria Nueva Multi-Sport Complexis the largest infrastructure project of the PMU Tuxtla, with approximately 62,000 m2 of rehabilitation and construction. The sports complex emphasizes the public, transforming its access into a permeable space that invites the community to enter with a diagonal gesture that retracts the main entrance to generate a plaza outside, extending a pavement carpet under the shade of a tree.
As one of the project's firsts, we took up and reinforced the pre-existing axis marked by previous uses and transformed it into a calzada of tabachines to intertwine the different constructed structures and create a play of voids and volumes that are opposed, as well as the use of different heights to generate a perspective within the complex.
Another main objective of this project was to transform a sports complex dedicated to men's soccer into adiverse and inclusive space for the entire population, hence the use of thename Multi-Sport Complex.
Thus, the new space contains various places for the development of different sports such as basketball, volleyball, skatepark, outdoor gym, running track, and a space for children.
